I live in Basildon and go to Fryerns Baptist Church.

The church I attend and fellowship at ( atleast for the last one and a half years) would gladly take john Calvin up even on a part time basis. We haven't had a resident pastor for the last 4 years. Being reformed in tradition we have been nourished by visiting pastors from sister Grace Affiliate churches and held together by a graciously loving set of elders who consist of a retired pastor and doctrinally sound men. The love for the word has not whithered though our earnest prayer is that God would give us a resident pastor. It is true that todays's average "Christian will" pander for the motorcycle sermon series or pizza party sermon and rigorous biblical studies are not a virtue extolled in most circles. **Ahem pentecostal and Charismatic** But thank God there is a remnant who still believe in going back to the sources- back to studying the word and loving it and obeying it.
