It is possible that the switchover also caused accounts with complex password unable to login.
I finally am able to login to MobileMe site. I do have a long and complex password to begin with.

I use a fairly complex password and still couldn't get in.
Then I read: http://www.apple.com/support/mobileme/system_stat...

Some MobileMe members are unable to access MobileMe applications at me.com. Access to MobileMe is still available on desktop applications, iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. Normal service will be restored ASAP. We apologize for any inconvenience.
