I hope then you are a person who welcomes the theory of evolution as a possible mechanism for God's creation of the world...otherwise, you are contradicting yourself if you blow off literal interpretation of the Last Supper as 'just a bunch of sybolism' and then turn around and claim 'true Christians' only believe that the world is just 8000 yrs old.

The only person I know who has been consistent on these two points is my priest, who upholds Creationism as well as Transubstantiationism. I'd much rather argue with him over Creationism, as I believe God gave us the tools to explore his world and discover the many layers behind his Creation. As for Christ, though, I'll take His word for it: the Bread He gives is His Body, the Wine He gives is His Blood.
