dear stephanie ~
i am so glad we met through blogging!! you can be sure i will be checking out your plasticine people stories - your creations are genius!
to be honest with you, i am not surprised at all that you are taking this blogging break...i've sensed that your energy is being pulled into other areas, and that is ok and cool! best wishes with your novel writing. i give you credit for realizing that blogging is not a top priority right now, and being willing to follow your vibes.
xoxo!

happy weekend, stephanie! fridays are going to become special again - haha!
i really think this p/t teaching gig is aces for you. like you say, it's a BALANCE of structure and free time. i bet you'll get more writing done with less time available to you.
i LOVE schedules and structure - as long as it's of my own design. i schedule my free time/flexible time as oxymoronic as that sounds. i love my work schedule because it's always changing. so to answer your question: to do lists keep me on task, and for me, i just like the feeling of getting stuff done!
congrats on getting down the xmas stuff and hope the rewiring was a success!

off to get my clay baboons fix!
and welcome home! :)

this comment is going to be a mishmash of unrelated sentences - apologies in advance!!
safe travels home, stephanie. i hope it's not too too long til you can get back to ontario again (both so you can see your family and also so that we can potentially meet up?!?!).
this font size is just fine!
the movie "my week with marilyn" has been playing at the indy cinema for a couple weeks but i didn't make it there to see it...i'd love to learn more about this icon!
"circle time" - haha! thanks for the memory poke. my grade 11 english teacher used to have us all sit in a circle quite often for sharing, book discussion etc. we used to laugh at how hokey it was!
i love that graphic of tv - eat - sleep = sad. i would agree.
outdoor skating - so cool. glad to hear of kids still getting fitness and fun outside!!!

thanks for the book review, stephanie! i appreciate your viewpoint. i also am glad to hear of a book that doesn't preach that skinny is where it's at for everyone. i totally agree with the "set point" theory (natural weight) - trusting our intuition and our bodies to get us there is the tricky part.
good luck with expanding your reading horizons this year! i look forward to more book reviews!

great topic, stephanie! i enjoyed reading your memories as well as your more recent skating adventures. thanks for bringing back my own happy memories!
my dad taught me to skate at the local arena when i was about two. and i have fond memories of school outings to the rink.
i love your mental image of "don't slit the jugular!" - so true! skating is a series of mishaps waiting to happen!
i am glad you have rediscovered skating both at home and in TO. it's a great family activity - and hot choc after is a must!

i just set my mom up on facebook on friday...i am trying to decide if it was my good deed for the day or if i opened a can of worms!

this post made me really happy when i read through everything you have written, stephanie. you have an amazing sense of humour and quirky/funny writing style that i really "get." i am HAPPY to hear that you have found a blog style that feels good to you.
i totally can see how your plasticine figure stories (sorry, but that is the name they will always have for me!) take you sooo long.
anyway, thanks for the update and i look forward to reading more! esp if you go artsy-craftsy some days! :)
and oh yes - this post drips angst!!
