I think you're over-egging it. I don't accept that all war is simply wrong and bad, but you'd have to go some to convince me that WW1 wasn't simply about one set of interests against another.

I don't wear a red poppy but that's my choice. I don't think it should be banned. And I think the motion to debate a ban is disingenuous. Debate the symbol or its meaning by all means, but banning something is a whole 'nother ball game.

i suggest they fought for the betterment of their country and their interests and most assuredly NOT the betterment of mankind.

Thanks O. No, I can do internet stuff, it's just that I don't buy your contention. Sorry. I was being disingenuous.

We can all cite "reputable research" I guess when it favours our view. I suggest you were not swayed by this research any more than I would be. Your mind was made up long since. Mine is too, so maybe we could leave it at that.

And the McConvilles - they can just go to hell, can they ? Or would you rather rant and rave about the partitionist establishment, whoever the fuck they are ?

No, lets not compare at all. What happened to Jean McConville was a grave injustice. It doesn't matter how many other injustices were done, to whom or by whom , it doesn't change that simple fact.

The dog is indeed, as you say, in the street.

The Orangies should learn from this. What brilliant PR this could be. Instead of yer boring ould parades, get on yer bikes. Literally. Jesus, never mind protesting, we'd all PAY to watch that. I'd support every single march parade and protest, if every participant was on a bike.

Flutes and drums would be a bit tricky, so maybe they could all ring their bells instead. Think of the advantages. Parades would be over in a flash, we'd all be fitter and we'd get a great laugh into the bargain.

The only other condition I'd put on it is that the sashes would have to be pink instead of orange, but I'm sure they'd be fine with that.

Come on OO, show us you can move with the times, marching is sooooooo 1690.

Could you cite any of these interviews with desperately sad children of same-sex parents and any of the reputable research you mention ?
