Sounds like a scary guy... This goes beyond needing just anger management.. This is one of those stories you hear that ends up where the guy gets out because of some loophole or over crowding and she gets a restraining order, just to have him come and kill her... Then the police will be all on heightened alert and arrest any guy who even looks at a woman sideways, for a bit.. Then that will die down again just to have some stupid crap like this happen again... Then again, that might not happen, but that seems to be what usually happens...
I heard the commotion on beltline last night... I think the whole police task force was out chasing these guys... Well, I am glad they didn't actually cause and accident or something where others were hurt...
I missed the post where someone suggested riding a bike, but figured if it hadn't been suggested yet, it would soon... lol.. I am sure that there is someone out there that despite what they had to haul or what the weather was like, or how far they had to go, that they would still ride their bikes... but seeing as how I am not much of a bike rider, even when it is nice out, that is not me....
Is it just me, or does the wife look really young? I know it says she is 31... she looks a lot younger than that though...
"Also, blaming the victim is a ridiculous stance. No 16 year old could ever ever ever convince me to break the law."
I am hoping that this is not a reaction from my comment.. I was not saying that the 15 yo seduced this guy, just that she might not be as much of a victim as the article leads one to believe... Just to be clear, yes she is a victim in the sense that she is a minor and he should not have taken advantage of her, even if she did willingly participate...
I never said that she was mature... I said she might have been a willing participant... That is different than the article makes it sound, like she was abducted and raped and tortured for 3 days or something.... And while I might agree that she is too young to really fully comprehend the consequences of her choice to do something like that, she is 15 and she probably thinks that she knows better.... Does she? No, probably not, there are very very very few 15 year olds who have actually matured enough to actually understand those things.. That is why so many of us look back at when we were 15 and shake our heads and say "God, I was so stupid then, but I thought I knew it all"....
I also believe that being to young to make those decisions, or not, she is not too young to take responsibility for her actions... We, as a society, tend to let kids off the hook for their actions with the excuse that they are too young to know any better.... What are the consequences for a 15 yo who willingly sleeps with a grown man? I don't know the answer to that, I suppose it would be based on more facts and individual cases, etc... But whatever those consequences are, so many have a tendency to say "He is a pervert and it isn't your fault" yadda yadda yadda... Well, where is the responsibility for the teen? They don't have to take any just because they are minors? No wonder things are so screwed up... Kids grow up without having to take responsibility and then they reach adult hood and suddenly have to....
Well, you chose a good one to respect.. I, too, find Dave to be more rational and clear headed and non judgmental than many of the other people who comment here...
Something seems odd about this story... Like someone else said, what was the girl doing with these people for those 3 days in the first place?? I have to wonder if maybe the teen was partially responsible... Before you all give me TD, it is possible that she lied or something, saying that she was staying with a friend and willingly participated.... In which case, she may not actually be "traumatized" like someone suggested.... That said, I think this guy is sick and that having those relations at all, with a teen is not ok.... I just am curious about the circumstances behind this case. It doesn't say anything about the teen and what her standpoint is, sounds like mom just kind of came about this info by chance...
Zombie dog!!!! Really though, glad to hear that he is fine.
