Perhaps some people chose not to get the vaccine, such as myself. I got the regular flu shot but decided to not get the H1N1 shot. It had nothing to do with my local health care information. It was not that I was "scared" of it, just felt it was unnecessary.
This whole situation sounds a bit strange and certainly warrants investigation. I can't help but wonder if Mike was someone who was known to the police and disliked (you know... that personality conflict thing). Ten police cars showed up?? and the dog? They must've been really mad by the time they got him out.
No matter what, a family lost a member and I offer my condolences to them.
To "oledusty"... I am deeply sorry for your loss. I really know nothing about this situation other than what I read, but even that seemed the police over-reacted and inappropriately. There may never truly be justice for what has been done, and nothing will change. My condolences to your family on their loss.
I can imagine the second officer thought the first officer was hit, but boy... seems like an awful lot of shots fired. I cannot even begin to imagine what it must be like to be a police officer in circumstances such as that. The "suspect" was probably pretty much SOL once he shot at a cop. These situations are just tragic.
Perhaps it would be a good idea if the crime, driving under the influence, is punished severely from the first offense... not only when they become a "persistent offender." Society has come a long way in their realization that drunk (or high) drivers are real criminals. But, how many crimes would you be punished harsher for having had a similar offense that was "paid for" 10 years before? I think the laws in place would be good if they were enforced... as Kim Kinnaird said in the report.
I agree with UNFORGETABLE. The gov't is getting tax money on K2, and from what I hear, it's more expensive by weight than pot.
Some kids I know have said the it's a more intense feeling than marijuana. Under the influence is still under the influence... and the thought that those kids will be behind the wheel is a very scary thought. The argument I hear is "but it's legal." Persons that need to be drug-tested will all test clean (assuming K2 is all they've been using)... I think it is sad and scary.
My alcoholic son drank hand sanitizer and ended up admitted as a suicide attempt... and, yes, very sick. However, aside from that, hand sanitizer will also register on a breathalyzer test after using on your hands. I was told that at a drug rehab facility, which is why it is banned at such places for the residents there. Used correctly it is a useful product... it is alcohol-based and should be treated with the caution it needs.
What an amazing opportunity... for anyone. I'm not the biggest MJ fan...but, I'd go. I hope you are able to get there in time. It's gonna be crazy ...but, BEING THERE has got to be an awesome thing and, yes, a story to tell for sure.
