Basic cable uses coaxial cables to transmit radio frequency (which is both is a public resource and a form of electromagnetic wave,) along with fiber optic cables that conduct pulses of light (also in waves, also in the public domain) so I'm not really sure what you're talking about. Unless CNBC prints itself out and privately hand-delivers itself to each and every customer, they are beneficiaries of public airwaves.

Yes, why would our representatives want an audience with citizens who disagree with them?! That does seem messy. Much easier to curate an audience that can be relied upon to behave properly.

Yes, because television shows are NEVER filmed in front of giant studio audiences! <sarcasm>

If it can be done for the Emmys and the Oscars it can certainly be done for the debate and the democratic process. Networks use our public airwaves for free. Two or three times a decade they are supposed to give back and cover the presidential elections in a meaningful way. Excluding an actual audience (who would have actual, spontaneous reactions) from attending the debate is "changing the truth."

I was on campus yesterday, and this issue was palpable amongst the student body. Fliers reacting to this in one way or another were everywhere, generally with Trump's face on them, some of these with horns drawn onto Trump's head. Then there was this--overheard as I simply walked through the Shakespeare Garden: one girl says to her friend, "Donald Trump will make a GREAT president!" Every student around them laughed out loud, and one of them called out, "Donald Trump doesn't have a chance in hell!" More laughter ensued. If anything, this decision has ensured that millennials now equate the GOP with Donald Trump, and for most of them, that's not a good thing. It's a joke.

I saw a lynx on the border of Oregon and Idaho a few decades ago. Spectacular moment.

If these accusations are true and this was the only evidence used to destroy this young person's life, than I really commend his parents for standing up for their son's rights and reputation. What a joke that list of "threats" is. It reads like an Onion article. I'm no fan of the Nazis, but enjoying movies, video games and history fails to mark someone as threat to school, and are obviously not arrestable offenses. What were these adults thinking?

Wow. I have a much different take on that Facebook post. I actually find it disturbing and chilling. He has entirely shifted the blame from himself to LSD.

A big question I have is, is the guy who gave him the LSD still in jail? Who was on trial for murder here, Spencer Crawford or LSD?

Possibly even more disturbing are some of Spencer's friends' reactions to his post on Facebook: "Super well written! I enjoyed reading!" "You are unbelievably profound," "you are amazing!" "Thank you for sharing" "eloquently written," and many others that seem to be compartmentalizing quite a bit of this violent event.

Most people aren't able to use the "I mindlessly ingested mass amounts of drugs" excuse to lessen the charges when they stab someone, unprovoked, in the heart. Especially after disarming them first. I'm glad that Spencer feels some remorse, but I wish it were for murdering his friend, rather than for taking acid.

As he said in the full post, it was in liquid form.
