I also think Franco will be missed and should have been retained for his experience and good technical ability. A bench warmer no doubt but a very useful one.
However, I am not in agreement about Ilan and Noble. I feel again Noble has been through the motions this season and hasn't lived up to the talent we all thought he was. As always he's been grafting as much as he can do but I don't think that can disguise how average he is anymore.
Also I feel Ilan has been very lucky gaining the high praise he has been. His goals were very useful in keeping us up but I don't think they were down to a good strikers presence but more luck. OK, to a degree you make your own luck, but definately doesn't have the striking prowess of a Sheringham or Van Nistelroy. Him being released and McCarty being sold would be the best scenario for us this summer.

I feel Noble had a very average game yesterday and that he will be way out of his depth trying to fill our most influential players boots.
If Mido is on £1000 a week then it's £999 too much. McCarthy I feel similarly about. If Zola plays the same system against Sunderland, Ilan starting would be my choice. Spector needs his contract terminated and Stanislas needs to be played on the right more often.
Oh and Iain, Upson was captain yesterday, not Parker.
Team for next match, if fit...:

Faubert/Tomkins/Upson/Ilunga(Daprela)

The striker situation is a lot harder to solve. Hey, if it was that easy to find a goal scorer we would have solved the problem years ago! If the sum of 8 million pounds to be spent in the next week is correct then for me why not take a gamble, whilst balancing it with a sure bet. Now, i'm not quite sure who these would be; possibly Beckford and McCarthy, Chopra and Jo, Fryatt and Huntelaar. I'm not too sure which would be the best for us at this time, but I recon' why not take on two players, bolster the strike force and have cover for injuries rather than going and spending 7 million on Chamakh or Cavenghi.
