Have you read the Harshbarger report, by the way? Copies are available all over the Internet, and you can get to it from the link above (which isn't a Rachel Maddow link, by the way). The report opened my eyes to problems in ACORN, as well as problems with James O'Keefe's investigation.
Like you, I'm reserving judgment until I hear what O'Keefe has to say. I wonder why he hasn't been more aggressive about getting his side of the story out?

And bravo to Andrew Breitbart for demanding an explanation. Live and learn.

Now we all know that Breitbart showed a complete disregard for journalistic codes of ethics by editing his video so that viewers would draw conclusions that were the opposite of Sherrod's intent when she gave her speech. The text in the intro of the video is particularly misleading, in that the anecdote occurred long before Sherrod held her federal job, and she used the story to show that she learned from the experience.
The readers of this site should protest Breitbart's actions vigorously. How can a "journalist" who distorts the truth so intentionally ever be trusted? The code of ethics for the Society of Professional Journalists says that journalists should "seek truth and provide a fair and comprehensive account of events and issues." Breinbart isn't a journalist and he certainly can't be trusted to tell the truth about big government. Video Proof. Oh, brother.
