bismarket, hopefully you're not naive enough to think the Wayne County Sheriff's office scrolls "WELCOME TO" in several languages for the benefit of newly arrived, non-English speaking immigrants.

Aren't we all about "jobs, jobs, jobs," these days? And who exactly provides those jobs? Corporate America and small businessmen, that's who. Good infrastructure benefits everyone and we all utilize it. Citizens should not have to help pay for services they will never utilize. Longmont citizens helped pay for the current Broncos stadium. Many of us will never step foot in it. That's plain wrong. When you take money from one citizen and give it to another, it's called stealing. If I forcefully took money from one neighbor and gave it to another neighbor so they could afford cable T.V., internet, & phone service, I would be arrested for being a thief. So even if this venture succeeds (depending on how you measure success), it's absolutely the wrong way to go about it. - Scott Evans

It's easy to say "great news" until you realize that cities have no business getting into enterprises that should be reserved for private business. Don't agree? How do you like it when you see empty buses driving around wasting fuel, tax dollars, and adding to air pollution with their diesel engines? Not to mention the amount of traffic they constantly disrupt. They couldn't exist were it not for our hard-earned tax dollars. Governments don't operate on a level playing field when it comes to competing with private business. A private business has to provide goods and services better than their competition at a competitive price or risk going out of business. When government starts losing money on their business ventures, we get a blue book during election time that says, "Should taxes be increased..." When you read that in your blue book down the road in relation to Longmont's telecommunications "business," don't say I didn't warn you. - Scott Evans

"I don't feel I need to say anymore based off of your response," then you go on to say more. If you don't even know what 'anymore' means, how can you point out a flaw in anyone's logic?

Do you agree men and women are different sexually?
Do you agree that a woman will never become pregnant if she abstains from sex?
Do you agree that a human being can actually live their whole life without having sex and be perfectly happy and content?

I apologize. I usually try not to do that because I don't like plowing through a big, long paragraph either. I must have been on a roll. :- )

No, it's more definite than, "usually mens' may be stronger." It's more like, "mens' is stronger."

You can't deny that it's well-known that homosexual men many times have hundreds and even thousands of partners where homosexual women do not, correct?

Natural or unnatural sex isn't about right or wrong. There were no condoms in the beginning. Stop to think why that was the case.

I'd try to clue you in to the secret but you'd simply reject it in anger so I won't waste my time. I'd rather try with someone who is in control of their emotions.

If murdering a human being is natural, why are people put in prison for life and executed for it? Or is that just part of the natural order of things, too? And if everything we do is natural, then how can you disagree with me? I'm just a human being doing and saying what comes naturally to me. I can't help it. I was born this way, so stop judging me for who I am. Why are you trying to change me? Why are you so intolerant of my views? Why can't you be inclusive of my viewpoint? You're rather narrow minded, wouldn't you say?

How do you know I don't know the truth? Because you do and I don't? Is that what you're saying? And as far as I can remember during our conversation, you have not, one time, told me how I'm wrong in any of my views.

Give it another try. What type of governor was I talking about. (Hint: It's not a person.)

Obviously you are in denial. Here's a revelation for you that your public school teachers never passed on to you. Ready? Men and women are different. Let that sink in for awhile before you respond with another incredibly ignorant diatribe.

As Johnny Carson's audience would have asked, "How inane is it?" You failed to quantify why you believe my statement is inane. Simply saying it's inane doesn't make it so.

Marilyn, it cannot be a double standard because there are two different scenarios involved here. The woman becomes pregnant and the man doesn't. Women shouldn't allow men to use them as sex toys but they do it all the time due to giving in to their emotions instead of standing on the reality of the situation. You do agree the sex drive is different with men than women, don't you? That's why so many homosexual men have sex with sometimes thousands of partners. There's no governor there. Women are the sex governor because their sex drive is entirely different than a man's. Would you say the responsibility is equally shared in the case of AIDS or syphilis or herpes or some other STD? If the woman knows the man has an STD, is the man equally responsible for giving her the disease? Of course not. All the woman has to do is say, "No." If the man doesn't comply, then it's rape. So what's the difference between not having sex with a man who could pass on an STD and not having sex with a man who could render her pregnant? There is no difference. The woman always has the choice of saying "Yes" or "No." If she says "Yes," there's ALWAYS the chance she could become pregnant. If she says "No," there's no chance she can become pregnant.
