Hey 9-12. I am Mike from Spokane Washington and part of the 912 team here. We are facing some challenges with our local Tea Party, they are starting to make it a political venue instead of being about the people. We have a fairly large group and are fairly organized and have attended 2 of the Tea Party meetings. 912 Spokane has had the largest participation so far and were told no Politicians would speak, if any were there they would be there to listen only (which is great, we have no problem with that).

We paid for a booth at the local Gun Show this last weekend and promoted the 4/15 Spokane Tea Party and talked with about 700 people. Most wanted to know if it was just going to be a bunch of politicians trying to give us a pep talk and we assured them no it wasn't. When we did try and find out who was speaking we were told it wasn't settled yet. Today when I was driving to work a commercial came on the radio and guess what, Congress Woman Rogers is said to be speaking at it.

We feel we were deceived. We were hesitant in signing on when we found out that one of the guys in charge was a local Republican Chair person, but he assured us that it was about the people and would not be a venue promoting the Republican party or their candidates, so much for that. When I confronted one of the organizers he told me it wasn't them, that the Evergreen Freedom Foundation signed on to help and has basically taken over and set the policy. Well 9 12ers, do we have enough clout to change this, can you help us make this about the people and not politics?
