Can it alert me every time the Boulder City Council does something ridiculous?

I truly hope every council person who approved this gets voted out of office. This is all about Boulder's brand identity, at the cost of the businesses and people who live along those streets. And safety my butt -- cramming as much vehicle traffic into one lane is an unsafe, irresponsible thing to do.

As a 40 year old renter who has lived and worked in this community all of my life but can't afford to own here, she has motivated me to also become involved. I'm far from short sighted and am entirely invested in my community. And there are many others like me.

That said, it's hard to imagine she could plan that talk and not think it wouldn't get her fired. You represent the organizations you are affiliated with when in public whether you want to or not...

They are paying for it. If you don't want to help don't run.

Kind of ridiculous to point at the government at the source of all our ills in the fire world. In 1910 fires in the west kill 86 people and burned 3,000,000 acres. Such events lead to a policy of suppression that leads to where we are today but if you could stop a tragedy back then why wouldn't you?

Bottom line is nature will be nature, and there will be disasters wherever you go. Flood, fire, tornadoes, hurricanes. At least fire you can do something about to protect homes and lives.

That's horrible! I hope the driver never gets behind the wheel of a killing machine again.

The city could build a museum to poor and working class folks so they could drop by from time to time to reflect on what it must be like to have a job and live paycheck to paycheck.

Literacy anymore goes beyond just being able to read. It implies cultural and technological literacy at this point as well. I haven't seen much in the way of homeless people at the cultural events I've attended in the Library. There are plenty of venues for paid, private entertainment in the community. The Library is great because it's an agreed upon space for the public good that is free, provides for all and brings the arts and humanities to people who might not otherwise be able to afford them.

How about a couple of statues of Valerie Maginnis? Or maybe a garden of penis sculptures? Better yet, how about an American flag?

Maybe a Mount Rushmore of Maginnis, City Manager Jane Brautigam and Marcelee Gralapp!

This library has a rich heritage of ridiculousness and now is our chance as a community to enshrine and preserve it's history for future generations to look back upon and wonder...

With the cast of clowns in this town the possibilities are endless.

There really isn't a good place in that canyon for a fire station on the main road. There are no real straightaways down below except for that one, which is tiny. Everywhere is a blind curve and everyone drives fast. And having in the bottom 2 miles, where a lot of houses are and all the accidents in Boulder canyon, makes way more sense than up top.

Kind of funny, her comment about them swearing and spending hours there. If she lives near the proposed site there is no station yet - so what is she talking about? Though hopefully they would be good neighbors, and professional.
