The brain drain from India is more serious than the US one...as you wont see very innovative products coming out of India. There are plenty of people working in Google, Microsoft, Yahoo, Apple all out of India and helping built non-Indian Companies foundation. These people dont find themselves fit for Indian companies as much bureaucracy, stereotypes, boss-ism prevail here than being innovative and coming up with ideas, moreover Indian big brands are typically service based than being product based be it TCS,Infosys, HCL etc.

Brain drain of US is made poised by immigrants from India, China and other south east Asian countries as they still making up US a country with more number of innovative companies and products.

Now as per wikipedia -
"Open source describes practices in production and development that promote access to the end product's source materials. Some consider open source a philosophy, others consider it a pragmatic methodology." - Wikipedia

Going with above definition Google do provide API's (meaning part of their code open for others) for its products - Google adsense, Youtube, Google Analytics, Google Adwords, Google Search API too ...

However am no way being argumentative here as an argument always interrupts a discussion ..

FYI ....India do not have any B2C WiMAX network and few companies are doing on experimental basis. 3G spectrum is set to be auctioned this year feb. and further take 6 more months to take effective in market ...so 3G will be properly available to Indian consumers by end of 2010.....search - '3G auction in India' in Google news -> sort by date ...will get know the exact scenario..

3G is with BSNL only at present and what about rest -> Airtel (110 million+ subscribers), Vodafone (85+ million susbcribers), idea (60+ million subscribers) and many more ....apprx. 90% mobile users do not access these services..how would u clarify this.
