This, also considering that a home user will not see the same value in this as they will with the client operating system (which goes for not much more). This is more like an appliance once setup you don't need to ever use it again - in theory anyway.

Nice motherboard, I'm picking one up myself. You can get silent PSUs like the Silverstone Nightjar or Seasonic X, problem is they are standard size (160mm deep) so might be hard to squeeze into an ITX case. For the rest of the machine you connect the processor heatsink to a heatpipe that touches the case.

I'm not too hot on android in general, it feels like a less polished clunky Windows Mobile, that being said the UI is a lot better. This is why I'm still hopeful for the playbook, they've seen where android have gone wrong and corrected it - just needs more time in the oven for first and third party apps to appear.

WebOS didn't seem to take off here so I've not been keeping tabs on it but it seems to be liked by most and with your new site I'll be sure to check it out.

Windows 8 looks great but I thinks it's too early to tell how it will go, its one to watch.

Fair points, personally I see all the major OS's having more potential, even more than iPads iOS. Hopefully hp comes closer to realizing this potential so they can have a launch a little better than the Galaxy Tabs and Playbook.

Anyway best of luck with the new site!

eeeh seems a little specific, why so much WebOS/HP focus, the tablet/mobile market is huge and the focus is on an as yet non existent segment?

I was loving the specs until I read '2x 3.5” HDD Bays' 0_o, what am I going to do with that? It's 42cm high you think they could have added another 1.

I'll still be building my own I think.

Is this OS actually going to release or will it become a myth like Duke Nukem did?

Not going to buy you anywhere near the level of performance increase a HDD defrag can but it probably can help (sequential reads are still faster on SSDs).

Life of an SSD isn't a concern for most anyway, by the time it wears out to a noticeable level I'm sure it will be long out the door.

Old drives wont have TRIM, Raid can't have TRIM and some OS's don't support TRIM.

Still getting this i've got at least 2 dozen platters still in my house I'm sure they'll have use of this.
