When the Volt dust settles, the problem will turn out to be battery longevity and battery replacement cost. Starting in three years or so, today's Volts will begin appearing at used car dealerships -- unsellable because of dead battery packs that are outrageously expensive to replace.

Oh...That must mean they've left the "Let's violate national sovereignty by declaring a 'no-fly zone' " phase, gone through the "Let's strafe their troops and bomb their homes" phase, and are now into the "Let's just murder their leader" phase.

Does anyone else find it odd that Iran buys oil from Venezuela?

And why would the U.S want to interfere with that? The harder it is for Iran to use oil, the more motivated they are to develop nuclear power.

And why does the U.S. think it should have a say in oil trade between the two?

It must have been a slow week for the bullies and kibitzers in Washington.

It seems like each war our trigger-happy feds jump into makes less sense than the one before. This was an internal problem in a sovereign nation-state before the international meddlers decided to butt in. Their initial act of war (the no-fly zone) was bad enough, but they've now gone far beyond that and are conducting general warfare. When will the arrogant fools in Washington ever recognize -- and take advantage of -- a chance to mind their own business?

It's a good thing it didn't explode. Everyone in the vicinity could have been coming and going at the same time.

Isn't Libya a sovereign nation with rights to its own airspace? And wouldn't any sovereign nation consider any other nation's attempt to establish such a no-fly zone an act of war? And isn't the U.S. Congress supposed to authorize acts of war before the U.S. commits them?

Unless, of course, that's inconvenient.
