The current WEST parents commenting on here appear to be shifting to SOUTH if the plan happens in its entirety.
Question: What will the % capacities be for ALL high schools if ONLY THE EAST TO NORTH LINE WERE TO TAKE PLACE? The school board knows the answer to this question......I wish one of them had the strength to get on here to answer that question and the others that have been posed (see Thursday the 22nd Opinion section) to them regarding this redistricting nightmare.

The board wants to increase North Rowan's numbers. This is shown by the aquisition of former East Rowan land. I haven't seen a post from anyone objecting to the new North lines...only the other lines....
I am objecting to Carson lines being moved into East lines. It appears the other protestors are West parents objecting to their children's lines being moved into South's district. These objections are not judging North as a "bad school" they are addressing the love of their respective districts and the wish to remain there!

3.Beginning with a freshman class, North Rowan High School becomes a desirable place to be for any student in the county and city of Salisbury that know they do not want to pursue college, yet wish to have a vocational and technical school prep education.
4.The new North Rowan Vocational and Technical High School would add a freshman class the second year to the sop****res while the juniors and seniors would be on the previous academic track and so on for two more years until every grade was transitioned to the new program.
How much interest is there in this county and the city among students and their families at other high schools for a specialized school such as this? I wonder if there is enough that the numbers for North Rowan would increase dramatically. Of course athletics and fine arts participation numbers would also gain by making North Rowan THE VOCATIONAL TECHNICAL high school for the county!
Please school board, how about throwing Study Map # 2A and any others in the trash and work on the logistics for this idea?
I truly believe this will make everyone happy…..I will forward my thought to the board as well as posting here.
