Had she passed on helping these kids, you would have complained that she wasn't encouraging these young people to get involved in the political process.
If this bill adversely affected anyone, I would be in agreement. Rep. Bailey, has 18 Prime Sponsored bills and a whole bunch of Secondary Sponsored bills.
I am much more concerned about Judy Clibborn's bill that limits access to pregnancy centers. How is this helping our state budget?

I absolutely agree we need more and better security. I believe to revoke privileges--all non necessities-- for crappy behavior has potential to contribute to better security, in addition to more staff, security cameras, etc. I see this as a tool to "encourage" better behavior, not cure the prison system completely (unfortunately).

"The bill was drafted before Biendl was strangled at Monroe Correctional Complex over the weekend. "--This bill is not a "knee-jerk reaction".

Perhaps the financial penalties might be meaningless, but to lose "creature comforts" is more immediate and might be more uncomfortable. If it makes even 1 inmate think twice before assulting a corrections officer, isn't that a step in the right direction?
