Maybe they meant Bank Birector?

My logic is that I am talking about a real, life endangering, threat to people and you trivialize it by making an immature comparison to a kid getting their lunch money taken. Now you can continue your childish antics all you want, as I'm not the one looking like a prepubescent joker. Also, please continue to use the thumbs down feature that you seem to love, like this is some kind of high school popularity contest.

For being so "refined", your response is rather juvenile. Perhaps you are one of those you mention?

Interesting. I just got finished typing my response to refinedgentry above and noted the shared use of "almost non-existence" by both of us.

Your example serves to support my claims.

Would you say the same thing if you had a loved one who was a bank teller killed in a bank heist for what little money was in their drawer? Brinks, Wells Fargo, and the like arm their delivery men because they are dealing with a lot of money and need to have some means to protect themselves. Why aren't bank tellers afforded the same opportunity to defend themselves, and in lieu of that, protected from potential harm?

So you know, my first choice would be to arm all bank employees. As soon as the likelihood of dying for $500 goes up exponentially, I would not be surprised if bank robberies decline to almost non-existence.

Why in the world do banks not have all their tellers behind bullet proof glass enclosures yet? If every bank had every teller behind those, who in their right mind would try to rob a bank? Also, if they did this, they would have to adopt a policy like we have with terrorists....WE DON"T NEGOTIATE! So if they start threatening others in the bank, oh well. Since we have allowed criminals to simply walk in with a note, steal money, and MAYBE get caught, the reward outweighs the risk for many. If we allow them to threaten others to get what they otherwise could not get, the glass becomes a moot point.

Am I alone on this thought?

If I do, at least I have medical insurance to pay for my care. You won't see me stealing from innocent people to pay my way.

I would recommend removing the OP's comment then, as well. Condoning theft is hardly civil.

That you think it would be okay to make yourself a burden and responsibility of others, or on society in general, because of your own personal situation says everything about YOUR principles.

My principles are based on individual accountability and responsibility. Hate on me all you want.

We can all only hope that the judge will pass judgement appropriately. I hope the daughter's statement is enough to back up the claim he made, and assist with him getting as light a sentence as possible.
