This is a great 'for the record' account about the flood in Boulder. There have been tons of stories and communications of all types from various areas... but years from now, stories like this will be valued even more than they are today--which is still lots.

Mr. Neguse, 28, you are young and naive. Have you noticed these past 20 years or so how interested Colorado taxpayers are in ponying up for a new tax for something that may not measurably benefit them directly?

It's crazy to think the modern research university will be remembered in its current form in 100 years. Much less 1,000.

FWIW, I have my doubts about baseball in 1,000 years, too. As for rock and roll, most people already have forgotten it.

If some random observer had estimated the car was going 110mph, would the Camera have put *that* unverifiable (and surely overestimated) guess in the headline as well?

Even if a trained eye were watching for it, it would be difficult to estimate a speed like that. An random witness who likely saw it offhandedly... should not be quoted as an authoritative source as to speed in a headline even if you have him saying it on video.
