As a Christian minister, I agree with wacourson and gwenbchr....sort of.

Christians typically present the worst testimony of Christ's love. Many people avoid Christianity because of the behavior of Christians, i.e. they don't want to be like us.

Where I very much disagree is the idea of "let people do whatever they want and don't say anything about it". I know that is not what was specifically said; but, it does seem to be the underlying point.

I agree, let people do whatever they want. Their choices are their own. Their relationship with God is to be defined by them. It is not my job, nor Christ's, to convince them, browbeat them, or otherwise twist their arm into coming aboard the Jesus train. Christ would frown at that, as would God the Father and the Holy Spirit.

My heart pains at the "fruit inspector" comment because it shows how warped Christianity has been attempted to be lived out. For the most part, Christians have become very much like the Pharisees that Christ condemned.

All of that said, however, the example we have from Christ, Paul, John the Baptist, Jonah, the Angels in Sodom, and many others is a message of truth. Christians need to speak the truth and love the person.

While Christ openly condemned action, He more openly loved the people and when rejected, He stopped talking. Christians need to take a lesson on that.

We need to learn how to "Shut Up". We need to learn from Mother Theresa that it is best to love without questions.

This individual that walked in and shot someone needs the same love that I got. His sin is no worse than mine and that I continue to do. Paul didn't say, "I was the chief of all sinners", he said, "I am".

We need to be real with ourselves. Our sins are as tragic as this individuals, they're just different.
