A scaling back on the project to traffic driven levels would save billions that there is no funding for. The tolls have removed traffic from 520 for 20 years. The lawsuit is to stop the part of 520 that is not designed, or funded. In order for tolls to pay for this unfunded part of the 520 expansion traffic would need to stay where it is now for 20 years and immediately raise the tolls to $21 each way. That won’t work!

This lawsuit could save billions that there is no source of funding and still improve traffic, improve safety, and protect the environment.
However it is not one of the State's or SDOT's goals to improve traffic they just want to build more bus lanes and tax cars to pay for it.
With drop in the traffic because of the tolls on 520 the four lanes without the two extra bus lanes will be more than enough for 20 years according to a study by Wilbur Smith Associates.

Even the upper management at Good to Go have had problems. It is the technology not the moving of the tags.

This follow up article shows how the Good2Glitch system does not work.

When they foul up, they refuse to refund the overcharges and bad tolls.

They admit that the transponder was properly applied on one vehicle and it did not work. They then blame him for moving the transponder between vehicles for another one not working, why should that matter unless they do not read properly anyhow. I bet Mr. Whiting is tried of being hold, driving his car to be inspected and that accusations that he did something wrong by moving a transponder.

Remember 80,000 miss reads on the Narrows Bridge that WSDOT try to ticket but their technology was proven to be faulty and the tickets where waived of through out of court.

Tollbooths would protect drivers from such abuses of power.

They refuse refunds on their bogus charges. Calling them is not an option they require an in person visit, with your car and even then they refuse to refund their bad charges or overcharges.

That is often the case but not always and it does not explain the double tolls.
