There is a possible opportunity for me and my family to get out of the rental spiral into a rent to own situation. It would be out of a tight townhome with no yard into a house in the neighborhood I grew up in (2 doors down to be precise). The prayer is that God would guide us in the decision and that His will be done. My will is the house. Our credit score may have something else to say. I want to hear from God whether it is the right move right now. There seems to be more for the move than against, but that doesn't mean it's what God wants for us.

I finally got a chance to read this. Incredible step of faith. I seem to be surrounded by similar steps right now. A good friend of mine from church is leaving in 2 weeks for full time mission work in Thailand. Another friend of mine picked up and left Pittsburgh to follow God's lead, without so much as an idea of work, to Chicago. Our current worship pastor and band director came from California via Arizona and Canada via Texas respectively. They all are taking or took giant steps of faith, as you are doing, to follow God's calling.

How did you discern your calling and "hear" from God that this was the next step? I am in a place where I am comfortable, but I don't feel like this is where I am supposed to be in the long run. Your story and the stories of my friends inspire me, but I can't seem to get through all the noise to hear God on the issue.

I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Heck Yes. I will HAVE to get the series on DVD (or maybe even Bluray) to add to my collection right next to Band of Brothers. Can't wait. Might even have to get HBO for the season to make the wait a little easier.

I too have gone digital and use youversion as well. it's a great app and I have even downloaded a couple versions through there in case i am in a dead zone (which tends to happen at those retreat centers in the middle of nowhere). Free is always better for me, so I never even put any thought towards spending that kind of cash on an app (especially since I have what I need in "analog" form).

Buddi is a great FREE app for keeping your budget balanced. Tweetdeck ,iTunes, and Firefox of course. I use a lot on the dashboard too... iStat Pro and Radar in Motion are 2 of my favorites though. Although not always running, I like to keep Photoshop, RDC, Cyberduck, SketchUp, and Stickies within reach.
