Wow! That is an awful story, er, rather total opinion piece. It's just loaded with statements of "fact" with no supporting evidence. There are too many to spend time responding to them, and the skewed thinking. This guy seems to think people enlist in the armed services for salary and benefits. And the rest of are obliged to support them.

I'd like to fundamentally transform Obama - into a private citizen.

No I don't. And I won't. Feel better now?

No, I don't think active duty personnel make enough for much of anything. Don't put words in my mouth. Why do active duty personnel need health insurance?

That's right I didn't mention that "serving" in government shouldn't entitle them to unreasonable benefits, because the article was not about that. It also wasn't about all other injustices in the world, either. I thought maybe logic and reason might prevail, but obviously I was wrong. Some people just want to see red.

I am against increasing what we all have to pay regardless of the perceived merit. In fact I am for reducing the amount we have to pay, and we should look at any benefit system for savings. Even if I have to support something Obama proposes (which I have not yet).

I do not think about TRICARE nor do I study it at all. It was the post which said, "The Obama Administration plans to force active duty service members and veterans off the military’s current health care plan, Tricare, and into ObamaCare’s state-run healthcare exchanges..."

TRICARE is open to active duty and retirees, AND THEIR FAMILIES, and OTHERS, as well as National Guard and Reserves. It's cheap health insurance, presumably because it has a large federal subsidy.

I also do not wish to pull the rug out from under those wounded in action or even not in action. But I think that is more of a VA issue.

I support practically nothing that Obama says or does. And I'm not supporting this. But this is part of a budget proposal, which would need approval and, as I understand it additional legislation, and the survival of Obamacare in SCOTUS. Not very likely, since Congress has not passed a budget in over 1000 days.

I'm not interested in paying ever-increasing costs of benefit programs for anyone, unless it can be justified. I think it's reasonable to look at cost sharing for the beneficiaries. Not asking them to increase their (pretty cheap now) payments is like getting free benefits.

What earns FREE benefits in your opinion (besides wounded in action)?

The post implies that veterans, who are paying something for premiums now, should never have to pay more? What kind of screwed up logic is that? McKeon says we can't ask them to give so much more. We're not. We're asking them not to take so much. Serving in the military for a few years or more should not entitle someone to a lifetime of the rest of us taking care of them, unless they were wounded or something. Or is the main issue that if Obama is proposing it it must be bad?

No, Darwinism was not the the foundation or root of either of those. Your second attempt at relating it relies only on the coincidence of timing. If people that practiced Eugenics had some crazy concept that they could apply "survival of the fittest" to killing the weaker ones, they were entirely mistaken, even if they may have gotten the survival of the fittest idea from Darwin. Darwin's theory (yes, theory) had nothing to do with thought or the actions of man affecting the natural selection process. It was purely genetic.
