I'd sure as h*ll rather die from my chosen vices enjoying life than have Every Single Aspect of my like 'Regulated' for 'My_Benefit'. I'll happily proceed along with fine cigars, fast cars (gas guzzling V-8's), motorcycles, 20+yo scotch, wine, dark beer, MEAT cooked over flame, and other sundry whims.
Oh, and BUTTER should be real, not fake

Same goes for setting them up as 'trading partners' like any other nation.
Want to be treated as a separate country? Fine, REALLY be treated as one.
Should solve all the issues everyone has... except the tribes would experience serious financial upheaval. Too bad I say.

Limit of 12 consecutive years as a 'politician' which then requires a minimum of 5 years working in the private sector (company with minimal direct ties to governmental contact/contracts) before attempting to get reelected. The 12 years would be local/county/state/federal inclusive.
Break up this 'old boy network' and try to limit/eliminate the 'career' politicians. Hard to state "of the people, by the people, for the people" when it's been decades since they were a 'normal' person with normal concerns.
