Maybe, but...

I'd sure as h*ll rather die from my chosen vices enjoying life than have Every Single Aspect of my like 'Regulated' for 'My_Benefit'. I'll happily proceed along with fine cigars, fast cars (gas guzzling V-8's), motorcycles, 20+yo scotch, wine, dark beer, MEAT cooked over flame, and other sundry whims.

Oh, and BUTTER should be real, not fake

I abhor chain restaurants. They have their place, but I look for local eateries instead. My favorite places are all non-chain. The best food (authentic or flavor) I find comes at the places where the locals eat (smaller towns) or require digging a little more deeply than some 'likes' on facebook.

This whole 'tunnel to restore the waterfront' fiasco started under Nickels. If I remember correctly, his brother-in-law and several friends own a bunch of property downtown near the viaduct/waterfront and they stand to profit handsomely. One of the reasons he pushed so hard for the tunnel. You do remember that McGinn fought against the tunnel initially? And that it was supposed to have large open spaces that created a big park for the residents to use, not fill it with a narrow swath of green and put up big buildings and add more touristy BS.

Gee, what happened to the 'open space and park like atmosphere' that was the mantra during all the discussions? I guess Nickels' cronies will get their wishes and profit hugely whilst screwing the rest of us... so plan on the market becoming a minimal city icon.

Very good question, and one I don't think has been answered. Isolated or design issue? Though, I wonder too if the same supplier io concrete is being used, if the pontoons are the same deign or different parts of the overall structure.

Not enough info yet, for me at least.

Alright, now we have a specific project to target funds generated by a new bicycle registration program.

What? We don't have a registration program for bicycles? Maybe we should...

Great game to watch. I always like to see good team play win it, instead of a couple big bats (home runs). Vargas was pitching well, wish they would have left him in, I think he would have done better than League. I hope Ryan really takes the confidence booster he deserves from that clutch at-bat and runs with it.

Sorry folks, but college isn't for everyone, and we (society) put too much emphasis on it. Post secondary training can be important (college, vocational), but it should be in fields that the student has an aptitude in, not some bogus degree they 'want' in a field they know nothing about. Apprenticeships still work well, and once we can get people to realize their expectations of six figure salaries out of school are unrealistic they might draw more qualified individuals..

Excellent idea, their independence can be treated as Canadian too. Lets lock up the borders for all tribal lands and install border guards and crossings too. Want to travel back and forth? Good, you will be subject to all the normal customs any person returning from Canada would be, including passport/ID check and vehicle contents check.

Same goes for setting them up as 'trading partners' like any other nation.

Want to be treated as a separate country? Fine, REALLY be treated as one.

Should solve all the issues everyone has... except the tribes would experience serious financial upheaval. Too bad I say.

I have a better idea.

Limit of 12 consecutive years as a 'politician' which then requires a minimum of 5 years working in the private sector (company with minimal direct ties to governmental contact/contracts) before attempting to get reelected. The 12 years would be local/county/state/federal inclusive.

Break up this 'old boy network' and try to limit/eliminate the 'career' politicians. Hard to state "of the people, by the people, for the people" when it's been decades since they were a 'normal' person with normal concerns.
