First ... Great movie.
Second ... The nit pickers will rip this movie apart. there are so many holes in this movies time line the hard core trek fans will have a field day. Granted, Nero coming back and papa Kirk dieing and the Kelvin being destroyed changed the time line, but there are so many changes. I was sure that when they ejected the warp core and it hit the red matter it was going to set the time line right. Maybe the time line will be corrected in the sequel.
As far as the casting, 90% perfection, Loved Pine, Kirk, Spock, Uhura, Bones, Sarek, Sulu and especially Scotty. Simon Pegg hould have gotten more screen time.
I did not like the guy who played Chekov, his accent was Way to thick and he was a bit obnoxious.
Over all Great movie, Of course it has to be said, the enterprise looked way to fancy, it is a little bit different from a cardboard cutout and the technology was way more advanced then ST:TOS. Lots of great action, there was a hand-to-hand combat scene that was necessary as there was a lot of that in ST:TOS.
Side Note - My favorite Dr McCoy line of all time.
