All I can say, is my son got laid off from work from a job through a temp agency. He had sent out over 231 applications and resumes in the course of 3 months, with only 2 interviews. This was going on while he was collecting his unemployment benefits. So MsaLisa, there is people out there looking for work hoping for a win at a job! Just like the lottery or a sweepstakes your chances are real slim.

First off, I'm sorry for the family of Gunderson. I know he will be missed badly now, and in the years to come.
I had made a comment a few months back when a young girl I believe in her early 20's that got hit by a car on McLoughlin Blvd. one night as she was partly standing in the lane ready to cross the street. An ambulance was coming down the road with lights and siren on. A young driver had apparently seen the ambulance approaching so he started pull over to the right hand lane, where the young girl was standing. He hit the girl as the ambulance drove past. It all happened a split second. I received a reply back on my comment from the young woman's brother a day after the accident. He thanked me for my comment, and said that right now she is still in the hospital in a coma. He stated he knew it was his sisters fault for standing on the street, had she stepped back, she might not have been hurt. Well, to end the story, she passed away a few days later.
She never had a chance to live her 30's, 40's, 50's or more. And it all happened because someone or anyone was paying attention, driving or crossing the street. A big price to pay all from a SPLIT SECOND.
So, DrRiderOR are you telling me that it was the Obama administration, City of Portland's fault that Gunderson got in an accident because HE wasn't paying attention? Like what happened on McLoughlin, it was the approaching ambulance with lights and siren on, was it the ambulance drivers fault for the young lady to lose her life??? Not hardly so. In case you don't know, every president's administration Obama, Bush, Clinton, Bush Sr., Reagan, all of them, when there is a president arriving they close all streets or highways, rush hour or not. And its the people of the USA that pays for the escorts in whatever city. Its all in their budget, its not just Portland that pays for that escort.
Again, to the family of Gunderson, my thoughts and prayers are with you as you go through these difficult times. .
