I totally agree. I am the adoptive parent of two children through the US Court System. They are adults now, and finally there is some "light at the end of the tunnel." There were many times during their childhood that we wondered if we could make it through their myriad problems. We were warned of the seriousness of their issues, but we thought "love conquers all." Sometimes love is simply not enough. Would I do it again? Most of the time now I say "yes", but there were days when that answer would have been an emphatic "NO".

I'm very sorry for all involved. "Accidents happen"...a truism for sure, but it doesn't ease the pain and guilt.

My sincere sympathy to his wife, children, other family and friends.
