Congrats John! I cant wait to see what Chris is able to do with this. tools like this that sit on top of platforms like Twitter, Facebook, etc are a great way to filter and prioritize niche content or focuses. It really helps people to focus and reduce the noise of all of the different methods of communication out there...

keep up the good work!

This is something that is very true in our organization. We have wicked talented designers, developers, customer care specialists and Q/A staff, but in the end they stand ready for battle with one small question. Which way do we march?

Once they are given the coordinates and are pointed in the right direction there is no one that can march better, fight harder, perform in a more excellent manner, but without that initial direction, they are like a wind-up toy that will keep running into the the corner of a large room.

This just goes to show you that we all have different talents and skills and we all have our different role to play, not only in the kingdom of God, but also the daily work place. If we each play our role out correctly, then there will be direction, there will be execution and there will be success in our ministry...all by the grace and mercy of Christ.

I think Facebook still plays a role in the realm of my life online... My life online is made up by a slew of different sites. I use facebook to stay connected to friends, I use twitter to follow the minute-by-minute play by play of the people I care about, I go to tangle to watch Christian videos and stay connected with my church friends, I go to CNN for news, yahoo for stock quotes, and then I use AIM (instant messenger) and email for communication.

All in all, I try to look at my life online like I do my stock portfolio... It is all about DIVERSIFICATION. Why put all of my eggs in one basket... Too many people put all of their eggs into Myspace and now they have had to build new accounts elsewhere. I like to go online and be who I am and share my thoughts, ideals, beliefs, etc online...

Online is my megaphone to the world and with sites like social networks (Facebook, MySpace, tangle, etc), I can level the playing field and go where my voice is just a valid, important, and relevant as anyone elses.

The key is to understand the proper mix or diversification formula for yourself. I like some facebook mixed in with some twitter, a good dose of tangle, and then a dash of You Tube every once in awhile. The point is to understand what is the best mix for you and how do you effectively manage your persona online. Too much and you are inundated and diluted by noise, too little and you aren't staying connected. The key is to find just the right amount of each bit of online joy to make yourself content.

So for me, bring them all on.....Well that is in moderation of course.

14 years ago @ ChurchCrunch - Blogging Your Tweets? · 0 replies · +1 points

I think the purpose of a blog is to expound upon more than 140 characters of "what can I say to impress people" (aka Twitter)and more about what is going on in your mind, in your life, and in your world. The other thing I like about blogs vs. twitter is that twitter is a push technology vs. blogs which invites the user to come to the host site and find information. In the end, tweets have their place and blogs have their own, but sooner or later if you are using your tweets as blogs, people will find you and out and lose interest in your message and what you have to say...
