Our daughter had to do a whole week study on President Obama. They learned facts like how many children he has and what his wife's name was......they also had to write a letter to him. She told us that if any kids voiced negative opinions of him they were told not to say mean things about people in class. I also know that three of the school's teachers went to the inaugeration ceremonies and my daughter's teacher is a big fan. I wish I had an answer for you on a book for your grandaughter. My daughter is 8 and I'd love to hear about a book that she could read that is on a child's level and explains our great nation and it's founding principles.
