there are ways to save your shsh blob for 5.1.1...even if you are running 5.0.1...

go to 5.1.1 where currently there is a untethered jailbreak available. Would be the ideal thing to do.

Redsnow can create custom no baseband firmwares. Go into redsnows extra settings.

I got the same 1 bar last night, its just a cosmetic issue. Actual phone reception is normal.

I didnt choose to do so, JB still went through. Some finding...

On i4, BB 1.59, after updated to FW 5.1.1 and unlocked,,,..with Ultrasnow and fixer, signal is working normal but signal bar has just 1 bar.

itune's Shift update to FW5.1.1 does not require activation again. This could be useful if you dont have original carrier sim to activate.

Tethered or not depends on your 3gs firmware version. Go to setting, general, about then post your version firmware.

As part of steps going to just boot DFU is required and done. Also tried on another usb port, 7 attempts with no luck. Is it a mac issue ? Anyone else having this problem ? Thank you DH...

trying to just boot with latest redsnow, but redsnow keep crashing while trying to patch file, i4 gets stuck on pineapple forever. Doing all this on a mac, newest iTunes, newest redsnow. select ipsw doesn't work as well.
i4, fw5.1....please help....
