The guy is turned on by males. That makes him gay. Look at the stats for gay voters. I think it is about 2/3 vote democrat. So despite what he pretended to be, if he weren't trying to hide behind a wholesome American image, and came out and admitted who he truly is, he would almost surely identify with the democrat party. Being a republican was part of his mask to hide his secrets. Let me lay it out for you because I am sure you aren't bright enough to get the point without it slapping you in the face - HE WAS PRETENDING TO BE A REPUBLICAN. He obviously does not agree with a major plank in the repubilcan platform which is traditional values.
