It is a great wonder to me how some of these con men do it. I hear, all the time, how a person drops in, out of no where, offers to do a roof repair, agrees to a price of $4,000 , goes on the roof for a few hours and swabs it down with some black gunk, comes down declaring the job is finished, gets paid, and cashes check. Only later , when she talks to a neighbor, does she realize she's been scammed.
