I am a visiting nurse that has to visit patients in Boulder. It's great that you put up "Physician Only" parking spaces against your poorly apportioned parking lots and towing signs which clearly have been won by the highest bidder around The Carillion of Boulder, Golden West, and The Academy. Unfortunately, when I am called out it's not a physician that has been called out at all. It's the nurse. And I have nowhere legally to park. Well done Boulder. The patient and their Boulder County trustarian children think I should walk a few blocks and still get there within a certain timeframe.

Your non sequitur reply to my post isn't that puzzling coming from someone who gets their morals from a book that refers to women as whores, demeans them and classes them as chattel. You probably felt entitled to be so condescending.

My daughter and I have no need of your prayers and along with the usual birth control advice I have always told her to steer clear of creepy religious zealots.

As a woman of childbearing age and mother of a daughter who is also of childbearing age, I sincerely thank Dr Hern for the services he provides. I have never had to avail myself of them but I thank him for providing them despite having faced many personal threats to his life.

I don't hold US police in high regard and I don't have a criminal record either.

It's interesting that the second anyone has reasonably pointed out anything negative about police at all and those comments immediately get lots of negative reputation points. I wonder why that would be?

So, if someone can explain to me about "Officer Involved Shootings" which sound like doublespeak for "Cop killed a citizen" here.

What I don't understand about American policing is why anyone who doesn't immediately follow a police order, it gives the cop carte blanche to shoot a citizen dead. I'm not making any judgments in this case as I'm not sure if the cop did think his life was in danger. However, I've read many other reports where a citizen was not even holding a weapon, but something like a cell phone where a cop felt justified in shooting someone dead.

In London last May someone murdered a soldier with a machete. In that incident the UK police still only shot to wound, not to kill. We don't think it is up to the police to act as judge jury and executioner. I'm just wondering what the US mindset is (I'm British) and why so many feel that shooting to kill by cops is justified.

It may indeed be a cry for help from the children. However, in non fascist nations social services normally investigates first instead of immediate criminal charges on children that are in no way harmed. Many aspects of normal every day life are becoming criminalized. I don't think she is parent of the year either, but doing this will in no way help matters. More than likely her children will not be taken away. Let's see her try getting any kind of decent job to support these children with a child abuse conviction on her record.
