Geez, I just got a cheapie. No pockets in there at all. Maybe I'll take a look at one that might hold more. Right now I'm just worried about it falling off--there's not enough velcro for me to tighten it sufficiently. :)

Wow, Dale! Great idea! And you're doing Leadville! AMAZING!!! Please send us a race report (and maybe some photos?) after you do it. I for one would LOVE to hear about it!

Simon,

I am not sure why, either--could have been safety, but I was running in the morning and kept close to the University, so unless I hit a neighborhood I shouldn't have by accident, it was quite fun. I was the only runner I saw, but that might have been because I wasn't running in a park--just along the sidewalks.

I look forward to someday checking out the running scene in London with you, Simon--next time I make it over there. w00t! :)

There is something about the treadmill for some of us, isn't there? I just seem to go slower (maybe the bounce absorption has something to do with it), feel crappier, and can't wait to get off. I don't mind walking on one (then I can read or watch tv), but running is pure torture. :) No running machines for me. I've even run in 10 below zero (Fahrenheit zero, not Celsius zero), though the ice in between the layers when I got home was a bit disconcerting. :)

And by the way, folks, I need to note that I DIDN'T GET ANY OF THE COOKIES. ALLAN. Where's the love, dude? ;)

Congratulations, Jim, on your first tri! You did it, which is what matters in the end to all of us mid-pack folks. Rock on! :)

Thanks, Shelly! Sounds like I now have two types to try! And I better do it soon, because the cord is getting seriously shredded at this point. :)

Thanks, Larry! I'll look into the HE detergents at Target. The Sears stuff isn't bad, and you get a lot of it, but it'd be nice to use liquid instead of powder for a change. :) I'll also check out the ear buds. Thanks!!! :)

Excellent that you're doing your first half this year! Awesome! And thanks, too, for the shout-out! I was in Manchester a few years ago for work, and what I found interesting about the city is that folks tended to look at me oddly when I was running outside. People kept explaining that there was a running machine" in the hotel. :) I just explained that I preferred running outside (in the rain). Not sure too many folks got it, but I kept going outside anyway. :)

Hahahahaha! Ok, so we have some rivalry. It's all good when it comes to the runs. :) I love the fact that you did the race that ends up on the speedway. I used to travel to Indy each May, and sadly, seemed to miss that race EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. Was very disappointing, but I'm really glad you got to do it! :)
