A five-year-old playing with a lighter is one thing.

A five-year-old deliberately lighting nail polish remover on fire is something totally different.

Whether it's the mom or other people the kid was around, I don't know. But that story is just the tip of the darn iceburg, that's for sure.

And what skews the numbers even more is that a very low percentage of (real) rapes are reported, compared with other crimes. Most murders will be investigated; most rapes never will be.

Too many people believe that the only poor deserving of help are those in other countries - not those at home that form the base of the pyramid holding the whole country up.
