I don't really disagree with him because Sandra Bullock says the same kind of thing about her Romcoms. That the critics hate it, but they make a ton of money, so obviously the audience likes it. I think the box office is the best critic. I personally hate crass comedy because it's lazy and lacking unless just a line or two from an unexpected source. When everything about your comedy is about the size of your penis, it gets boring as hell.

Mel Gibson aside, because I can not argue with his anti-Semitic comments, nor with the part of the 12 Step Program in making amends, you simply have no clue about the Catholic view of Judaism.

Most Catholics have a deep sense of gratitude toward the Jews for their preservation of our religious heritage. Jesus, as we all know, was a Jew. We as Christians believe that he was the fulfillment of the Jewish law, which is why we no longer need to keep the Jewish law. However, there are many many parishes that hold Passover, and recreate the Chanukah story. I have heard many priests and bishops encourage us to attend these event in Jewish homes. There is a sense of reverence for Judaism.

And yes, I can't deny that we always pray for the conversion of those who are not believers as we pray for the union of all Christians everywhere. But this is not because we don't honor where we came from. It is because we really believe that Jesus is the Way the Truth and the Life.

Please stop calling the terrorist animals, strike-through notwithstanding. They committed evil, animals CAN NOT commit evil. In order to remember heroism, we have to remember evil exists.

I won't see the movie because I'm the person who takes the steam cleaner to the whole house after a stomach virus hits the family. This movie would put me right the hell over the edge.

Maybe "re-boot" of everything under the sun is tiresome. When was the last Captain America? or X-Men feature? I still like the Christopher Reeve Superman series, so I don't need the new one. Just a thought from someone who LOVES comic book movies. But can someone make up a new hero already?

My parents were told to abort me. Not for anything specific, just the likelihood I would be "less than." This is why the so-called feminists will never have me. They wanted me dead over a "likelihood". Someone else wanted the responsibility of determining when I was a human being. Instead I'm a fully functional female who is happy to stay home with my kids and live the life my mother was told was worthless. Oh well, I stopped letting other people determine my worth the moment my parents told me of my history. And I pray for those kids who don't have parents to do the same for them.

The real problem is that commercialism ruins good product. When you go for mass appeal you lose individuality. Everything has to be so vanilla that the masses agree. Not to mention, who needs good acting when you have CGI?

Why I don't automatically see conservative films:
1.It costs too much. I have a large family, nights at the movie, even the $5 days are rare b/c I have to pay a sitter, and I rather do something else where my husband and I can enjoy each other.
2. I want to be entertained in a way I can't be at home. I will see X-Men in the theater, but not a documentary. Sorry. I have a great t.v. at home, as well as Netflix. I'm good there.
3. I'm a conservative person, not a market. I live my life prudently. I pick and choose what I do with my money, making sure we give as much as we can to charity so that I don't turn into the type of person who thinks charitable giving belongs in the hands of an over-reaching government. That means I don't run out and spend money on entertainment every time someone says, "OOOHHH LOOK, IT'S CONSERVATIVE."
4. My standards are higher than BH. The reviews for Crazy, Stupid, Love were over the top positive here. I went to it, in a rare move, over Captain America. It was crap. I don't find young boys masturbating and girls taking nude photos and giving them as gifts as fun viewing. Especially when those very real things aren't dealt with properly.
5. I support conservationism with my actions, my votes and my conversations with friends. In this economy I do my best to serve my family and the less fortunate with our money.
