Quick question sfvcyco. You go hiking. You slip while on that hike and twist something or break a bone in your leg and need to be rescued via helicopter or transported out by S&R. Do you feel obliged to compensate the rescue team?

Dear KOMO, that's a nice attempt to link some YouTube video with the article. However, that's NOT the show's opening credits. It is rather, someone's take-off of the opening credits.

This article is a misnomer. Mac users are NOT charged more for the same price vs a Windows shopper. They are *shown* higher priced rooms based on the demographic that Mac users tend to pick higher priced rooms. As tech pundit John Gruber says, "To be clear, this is about defaulting to showing Mac users higher-priced, better-rated hotels first, not about charging Mac users more money for the same hotel." rooms."http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052702304458604577488822667325882.html

CWU you are NOT being charged more. You are merely being shown rooms that are higher priced due to the demographics of Mac owners purchasing habits. You can resort the pricing if you want. That's my best laugh of the day. Apple products are just remakes of MSFT products. REALLY? MSFT doesn't even make computers (well not until today at least). The iPod was introduced in 2001; the Zune years later. Sure there were MP3 players before the iPod. Rio PMP300 anyone? As for the smartphone market, your comparing a MSFT smartphone to the iPhone? I am sure Apple wasn't simply "remaking" a product from Microsoft. The iPhone was introduced in Jan. 2007. I should know I was in the audience for the announcement. Just when was this MSFT touch based phone on the market? Before 2007??

"Technically, it's not a loss of rights considering its never been allowed."

Let me get this straight. If I use your logic then Blacks in this country would have first had to have been desegregated in the US, given equal application of voter registration requirements, and THEN have these rights taken away before they could legitimately claim their rights had been disallowed; that they had lost their rights. Furthermore, women would have to have been given the right to vote, and then have it revoked before they could rightfully argue for a Constitutional Amendment?

Yours is a rather stunning comment. If a class of people are denied their rights they can't claim they have lost their right because they've never had them to begin with. The homosexual community can't argue for the right to marry because they've never had it to begin with. They can't ague they've had a loss of their rights since we've never allowed them to begin with. How silly of me not to realize this.

Went right over your head as I figured it might. You asked why I care and my "copy and paste" was my answer. Let me ask you this. Did only African Americans march for their civil rights? Did only women think they should have the right to vote? Did only women support Title IX?

Would you ever be passionate about something in which the outcome did not impact you directly?

Do you disagree with the statement that a loss of civil rights for one is the loss of civil rights for all?

This is why I care:

"First they came for the communists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a communist.
Then they came for the trade unionists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a trade unionist.
Then they came for the Jews,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a Jew.
Then they came for me
and there was no one left to speak out for me."

"Civil rights are not at issue here, except for the assault on Marriage by the gays and lesbians. It’s not about equality; they have the same rights as everyone else."

Well....not yet. But they will on November 6th. :-)
