Which is exactly the reason I do not support this illegal act, these people are in fact criminals when inside the United States without a green card or up to date visa. These people need to be deported to help solve our nation’s problems. We would save money by having them deported and it would certainly create more jobs for our own legal citizens. Our tax money would go towards more important things rather than helping pay for illegal immigrant’s education and beds in prisons. Illegal immigration is a thing that needs to be stopped or this country will only be in more trouble than it already is one day.

At the same time I believe they should still obey the countries laws just out of mere respect for the people here. At times it has to be hard, but as humans we all should respect each other more in my personal opinion, but that will probably never happen. I just cannot seem to put myself in an immigrants shoes as well as other people can so maybe that is the reason as to why I am still under the belief that they are wrongfully here. I don’t fault immigrants for what they do at all, but I am upset as to how they go about doing it. I don’t agree with people doing things illegally, it’s like cheating on a test or in a competitive game. I don’t condone cheating by anyone for any reason at all. Immigration is a problem in this country and it needs to be fixed because our country isn’t exactly in the best shape as it is, so illegal immigration into this country doesn’t help solve this problem, it only severely worsens it.

My opinion on illegal immigration really hasn’t changed much just because of this lecture. I mean I understand people wanting to better their lives and such, but when it comes to my families tax dollars paying for all these illegal people I don’t support it at all. My family came here and gained citizenship the right way and all these people doing now are doing it the wrong way. Sneaking around and jumping in trees, hiding in cars, swimming through rivers. It is all ridiculous and just absurd. It really isn’t that hard to gain citizenship into this country if you just respect the laws and go about it the right way. I am all for people bettering their lives and I admit if I was an outsider trying to get into this country I would do the same things they do now. I would sacrifice everything to better the lives of my children and grandchildren because in the end it would be worth it all. These people are the most unselfish people in this world and they work harder than most people in this country.

Due to this developed idea we no longer have a focus on English as a language and we have created shortcuts to make it easier on ourselves while texting or chatting on the computer. This whole idea that is a part of making it easier on ourselves is only hurting us in the long run. Soon kids won’t learn to talk until a later age because the parents will rarely be talking in front of them as much. Texting and chatting on the computer have been very harmful to our society. I mean we rely on texting so much to get an idea across to one another and it isn’t even an effective form of communication. You can’t even exhibit emotion within texting, which I believe is half of a conversation. This idea eventually needs to be fixed and our society needs to be returned to older styles of communication and maybe one day people will begin to start listening to each other again through face to face communication.

Our society today as whole usually exaggerates stories or simply miss tell them which eventually leads to bad news and a false story or accusation. I truly believe when it comes to our society the telephone game was a great example of how miscommunication works in today’s world. We all at one time or another have been involved within the realm of miscommunication and it is almost impossible to escape in today’s world. I believe it is just the lack of listening during a conversation. I believe we as people have become less interested in face to face communication because of all the advancements in technology with cell phones, computers, and texting. We no longer have to rely on face to face communication to talk to one another, which is why miscommunication takes place. We as a society have developed an idea that face to face communication is now a hassle and is unnecessary, which is false.

I thought the telephone game was very interesting and I had actually never seen in used in that manner, using an entire story rather than using just a phrase or sentence. It just exemplifies that our society naturally shortens things up, which leads to miscommunication, and often happens in critical situations. The story was fairly complicated and it had to make it through 6 individuals I believe, and we all knew in the beginning that it would be a daunting task. The story was transformed in many ways and each individual had its own interpretation of it and they changed it accordingly. I noticed that even when the instructor allowed the other person to help with the retelling of the story that even that person who had originally told it couldn’t remember exactly what he or she said. It was funny to see how that miscommunication is vital and is a big problem in such an easy task. It makes me wonder sometimes if we as a society have just gotten lazier or just stop listening to people, which is very rude and I hope to not be true.

We are willing to sacrifice lives, innocent lives and we don’t think twice about it. We have stooped to a new low and I feel as if the United States is going to keep sinking in this world of unruly war and no one will be willing to help us out. This world is going in the wrong direction, you think by now with all the world wars and conflicts everyone has gone through, that the world would be striving for peace and unity, but in today’s society it seems as if everyone is finding something new they want, and they are more than willing to kill innocent people to obtain what they desire.

This feeling is also very hypocritical because we as a nation have done the same thing. We don’t take into account that the people in the Middle East go through the same thing we did when we experienced 9/11. We need to change the way we look at this world drastically because at this rate if we can’t provide a solid role model example for the rest of the world then who will? The United States are the superior power in the world according to most people and experts, yet we see ourselves coming up with equations that make us seem as low as all the 3rd world countries in the world that have no sense of feeling for other humans.

I feel the 29:1 statistic is appalling. It is the worst thing or equation I think I have ever heard. First off I don’t even know what kind of person can come up with such an equation. It’s almost as if we have lost all conscience of what it means to be human. We don’t realize that those 29 individuals have lives just like us and some maybe even more important and valuable than ours. Those 29 people could have the biggest impact on a community and we don’t even think twice about killing them or sacrificing them to kill the one we want. What if those individuals were children? What if they were actually American tourists just in the wrong place at the wrong time? How would we feel then? We mourn over the deaths of a few individuals in America and yet we are willing to take the innocent lives of 29 individuals to kill one person and it isn’t even a 100 percent thing? It is appalling that my country has forgotten what it means to be human and feel grief. Our country has lost all of its morals and we are supposed to be Christian. I think it is funny how we sit here and asked ourselves after 9/11 how they could be so radical and have no hearts when it came to innocent people.

I thought it was crazy that girls always feel the need to dress the way they do when they go out although I hope they don’t stop that because I find it amusing to make fun of them when its 10 degrees out, but I feel bad at the same time because they have it ingrained in their minds to impress guys and always have to fulfill societies norm of sexual appeal and other things. I have a new respect for women in general because they put up with a lot of shit from society and us guys will never realize what this does to them mentally and quite frankly I am glad I am a guy and don’t have to deal with all the bullshit that comes with having a vagina.
