I served in the Army for three years, 1965 to 1968, to include two tours with the 1st Infantry Division in Vietnam. I have no memory of ever even hearing of a suicide. I'm sure there is more stress in today's society but not so much that would lead to these numbers. If 50% never deployed and 85% never saw combat, well then, we have a real problem with our young. I don't think I've heard the word "cope" for thirty years. We've turned boys into girls and girls into boys. We've made everyone a hyphenated American. We've made homosexuality something to be celebrated. We put bike helmets on kids and walk them to school. We bring "grieve counselors" in to soothe the little kiddies nerves if there is bad news on the TV from a half a world away. And if that doesn't work, there's always a pill. Heck, I never even had an aspirin until well into my adult years. Quite frankly, I'm surprised we have anybody at all who has the mental and physical toughness to pull the trigger. The military used to be SERVICE, not a job. You went in because you wanted to serve, not make a comparable amount of money as some guy at IBM. How to solve the problem? Start with a draft. Most jobs can be done by continuing pool of eighteen year old two-year draftees. One thing this will accomplish is to reduce the number of married soldiers. They cost more and have more problems. Two secondary benefits of a draft would be a reduced reliance on women and homosexuals. Near instant communication does not help either. In Vietnam, it took a week for a letter to reach home and another week for an answer. The married guys did not have to worry about every little problem back home and most all of them loved the break and their geographical bachelor status. I know, things have changed. But they have not changed for the better. The material advances are nice but society has been irreparably damaged. Name any single societal problem and I can draw a straight line back to a numbskull liberal policy enacted thirty years ago. You reap what you sow. Liberals must be identified early in life and institutionalized. Whoa, now I feel better!

I guess these twits didn't hear the Ayatollah of Iran last week tell his minions to get ready for worldwide jihad.

John Jay (First Chief Justice 1789 to 1795) letter to Jedidiah Morse, 28 Feb 1797:
"Providence has given to our people the choice of their rulers, and it is the duty, as well as the privilege and interest of our Christian nation to select and prefer Christians for their rulers."

After visiting the web site of Obama's Trinity United Church of Christ and reading their doctrine (Black Liberation Theology espoused by James H. Cone), I doubt any thinking Christian would recognize it as a "christian" church. James H. Cone's theology is virulently anti-white and his 'A Black Theology of Liberation' goes so far as to say that if god is not against the white race than that god must be killed. See: http://www.discoverthenetworks.org/individualProfile.asp?indid=2315

So, is Obama a Christian? I think we all know better now after three and a half years than to take him at his word. Is he a "secret" muslim? I don't know, but I have observed that he gives far more respect to islam and it's adherents than he does to Christians and Christianity.

Yes, as disgusting as this tiny minority of deviants are, imagine what an equal number of muslims will do to our country. Muslims are about 1% of our population and expected to double by 2030. At 1% they have upended our country, at 2% they will "kill" it. God will sort out the deviants, but we must deal with the muslims.

I have Mormons in my family. They are the nicest, most generous and hardest working people you could ever hope to know. BUT, their beliefs are truly from La La Land. The Garden of Eden in Missouri? God lives on Kolob? Jesus visited North America?

Galatians 1: 8 But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed. 9 As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed.

Folks, that say it all, end of discussion.

I'm not defending lesbians but as I remember, Cub Scouts in the fifties had Den Mothers and Boy Scout Troops were led by men. I assume it's the same today. This touchy-feely inclusiveness is directly responsible for our societal decline. Look at virtually any of society's problems and you can draw a straight line back to a liberal policy run amuck. They always start out with good intentions but liberals only "feel" and never think of the unintended consequences.

I'm not suggesting a theocracy, but this country needs a revival of faith and it seems apropos that it may begin in a town called Rome.

Reading the comments on the link to Wired Magazine, I was shocked at the naivety of most all the posters who seemed to feel that teaching "Total War on Islam" was racist and worse than taking down the Twin Towers. We definitely are at the Rubicon. Our country is divided by two irreconcilable visions as it was in 1861. One vision must totally defeat the other for all time. November may be the last gasp for our Constitutional Republic. We must not fail.

This from Churchill's 1899 book, The River War, written when he was 24 years old:

"How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy. The effects are apparent in many countries. Improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live.…A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement; the next of its dignity and sanctity. The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property, either as a child, a wife, or a concubine, must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men. Individual Moslems may show splendid qualities ... but the influence of the religion paralyses the social development of those who follow it. No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith. It has already spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors at every step; and were it not that Christianity is sheltered in the strong arms of science, the science against which it had vainly struggled, the civilisation of modern Europe might fall, as fell the civilisation of ancient Rome." [The River War, first edition, Vol. II, pp. 248-50.]
