Can't be the worst HR call ever, since it doesn't involve John Sterling

Why? Because he can hit homers in that bandbox? Or because we didn't have enough lefties on the team already?

6 of the marlins' 11 wins came against the awful, awful nationals.

you can only beat who you play, but you could also argue that the mets are the only halfway decent team they've played all year.

or mezzanine, depending on your seats. i had a ticket plan in the mezz for several years, couldn't see most of the scoreboard, or diamond vision, or good chunks of the 1st base/right field line, or a lot of high-hit balls.

new plan: promenade, a little high up but near home, and I can see virtually everything. and my tix are cheaper than last year for much better seats

the "obstructed views" argument blows my mind. as if you could see the whole field from every seat at Shea.

Actually, you could see the whole field in the upper deck. It was 7 miles below you, however.

CitiField is so much better than Shea in every conceivable way (other than ticket prices), and it's not even close. I think most people are confusing their unhappiness with the Mets' lethargic start with the new ballpark.

unless you have a horrible bullpen (see: last year), one-run losses tend to even out. I would also say that the hitting will come around, too. The batters have to recognize that this is a double/triple park and hit accordingly (unless they can smack 440-foot bombs like Delgado).

The starters worry me more than the hitters. I'm willing to give Maine a pass on a sort-of chilly night. But if he doesn't sort himself out, and if Pelfrey goes on the DL for an extended period of time--or doesn't,but continues to struggle--that could spell some major trouble for this team.

Seriously. 200 Ks are Adam Dunn/Ryan Howard numbers. David didn't all of a sudden become so impatient at the plate

I think they'll get at least some of the game in. Enough so that everyone can check out the new stadium, anyway.

Oh, and Matt: Thumbs up on the layout and commenting system. Like it a lot, definitely much improved.
