This is why we need to become energy independent NOW. Drill here drill now will begin to move our dependence on foreign oil allowing our money to leave the country to domestic production putting the money back into our economy. Sure we need to develop sustainable alternatives to fossil fuels but not at the expense of our people. Nuclear, fossil and alternative fuels, domestically developed and produced removing the cycle of currency leaving the country.

Maybe the government should also either replace the head of the UAW or assign someone who will unconditionally represent the UAW in the auto industry bailout.
