I've said it before, by their inaction, Congress is allowing itself to become irrelevant. If they are not going to stand up and do something about this they have no one to blame but themselves. If I recall correctly, the financial act specifically states that the head of the bureau can only act after being voted in by the Senate.

The insurance business is one of the most over-regulated. It's absolutely impossible for me to buy a policy that covers just what I want it to. Acupuncture? I will never use it, but here in NY, it has to be covered. Contraception? Since I'll be retiring in a few years, I doubt I'll be using it, but it's covered. And so on...................

Too bad. It would have been nice to spend some more union money in a futile attempt to stop this. Let them use all of their funds before the presidential election. Methinks the jig is up for the unions.
