She is lucky she didn't get killed by the police, but only because they are cowards and bullies, not because a 12-year-old deserved to be murdered as you seem to be implying.

Yes, that's right.

"Deserve" is relative. Just because you don't have responsible parents doesn't mean you get anything the police feel like dishing at you. Cops uphold the law, they don't "treat you like a gang member". Grow up.

She got shot? I don't understand why a twelve-year-old needs to get her ass kicked. She was clearly out matched but of course the police being the cowards they are can't even handle a child

"there are also good cops out there"

I'm pretty skeptical of this claim. Even if this is true, the supposed good cops are part of the same system that protects bad cops at almost all costs. This story is an oddity in a system that investigates and polices itself and the worst punishment is normally leave with pay.

I don't know how much more lethal it is, but it appears to be much more contagious. It also seems to affect the respiratory system more so it can be more deadly to certain people that the seasonal flu would be. If I had kids, I would vaccinate.

Communist (Not really communist anymore) China spends far more on mass transit, and while Portland is good in that respect compared to most US cities, we have a long way to go to compare to most countries. Unlike you, ever since the green line opened, downtown is much more accessible and I enjoy being able to leave my car at home a couple times week.

On the topic of Canada, I hope someday I am able to take the MAX to Portland and hop on a high speed rail to Seattle and on to Vancouver, which is a great city.

The incident happened in 2007, and the victim did not get the money. Her lawyers got $7500 and the rest went into a trust to pay for her medical needs.

There's the details. He also plead guilty to two counts of misconduct, because he was on duty. I'm a bit skeptical of whether there was really consent considering he was in uniform, and she has mental issues, but who knows.
