I don't really have another option but to be passive, do I? What am I supposed to do, build a freaking water well in my back yard? Not really possible. Obviously I'm questioning it, but there isn't much I can do about it...obviously since I'm not on the city council and I have no say in it.

How much is the average family? I have 4 people including myself in my house, so I'm assuming I'm above the average that they're talking about. $1.20 seems fair individually, but when it adds up to each household that pays for water, it's just ridiculous. Water, fine. I'll pay it.

The garbage is just another story. If I'm not having my trash picked up weekly, then why should my monthly rate go up? Seems like I keep paying more for AWFUL customer service.

My husband and I wish we could do the same thing - we live in city limits so of course we can't do a burn pile, and we have an older house with a mouse problem so keeping the trash longer than 2 weeks (which is ridiculous at this point) is even worse. I'm jealous that you have that option!
