I felt much the same way before I heard Craig Groeschel speak a couple of years ago at the Willow Creek Summit. Honestly, however, I felt like most of these pastors were coming from a very self-aggrandizing bent. After hearing Craig speak, my opinion of them definitely softened. That's just simply my background on the issue...
My two questions for Clayton on the topic would be:
A) would you differentiate between a preacher/teacher and pastor? (I think that there are many great pastors with the heart of a shepherd that can't preach their way out of a paper bag and many great preachers who can't empathize to save their life.)
B) how would you compare the internet feed and internet campus to the multi-site environment?

I would use them to generate web traffic and hopefully get some writing work 'cause I need a few more $ each month. Also, I don't want to feel like an outsider at my next conference... speaking of... iPhone giveaway??

John,
Are you suggesting that 1) each organization needs it's own leader or that 2) as a culture we need a digital John Maxwell to provide guidance and wisdom (with a new book on the subject every 6 months - j/k)

I think that it's an issue of branding. What's more memorable "Hi, I'm Ryan" or "ryanbrymer.com". If I maintain my branding across media outlets a card helps me merge the digital world into the physical. There's a part of me that think it is a bit vain, but when you're meeting tons of people it's good to be able to differentiate yourself.
By the way, it's been good following you on twiiter.

Diversification is oh so tempting. I think that you have to find a balance between diversifying and targeting. There is nothing wrong with using multiple methods to reach multiple target markets.
However, diversifying with the same purpose/goal in each iteration is a recipe for failure.
