I can tell you that as a friend and knowing Cheryl's family for a long time, she cares an aweful lot about these kids. She has done more for a lot of other kids than most people do for their own kids.

Regardless of stigmatizism's, the kids are happy to be in a place that offers such support. Most of the time, it is adults that have a bigger issue with the name because they have put a label on the word 'transitional'. Great job Multnomah County Sherrif's and great job Cheryl!!!

I recently attended a law seminar where one lawyer discussed a case where a person had mentioned their employer in a 'less than favorable' position but not that bad....more wining than painting the employer in bad light. My take, after atttending the seminar, is that facebook is not a legal document and as an employer, you walk a slippery slope when firing someone for something they post on facebook. That said, I would expect that this employer will probably lose any sort of wrongful termination claims....that's my take anyway.

Outside of that, I can't stand that people are using facebook to throw up all their issues. Sure, it's their right but it's silly and solves nothing. I hope she has a claim against this company and wins.

There is no doubt that this guy is guilty. But how many of you know of someone or a neighbor's child that has come back from Iraq or Afgahnistan with some sort of issue or inability to cope with what they had done or experienced? I know that these people volunteer but the military does a piss poor job of preparing these people for civilian life.

Mrs. Canzano, should there be a loss of life, please be respectful of the families. They likely don't care about your deadlines. I can speak from experience in similar matters involving the loss of a family member and how you cared only about your story and deadline.
