I find the point made in this article extremely blind, and therefore vulnerable to all other points of view. The author makes no attempt to justify his position that "torture" is always evil. He simply puts it forward as a universally accepted principle, and at the same time presents examples of others who believe the contrary and still gives no attempt at logically justifying why his position is superior to the opposite.

For example, I am a Christian and believe that there are times when it is justifiable to sacrifice an individual for the sake of the whole. Did not God give us this example when he willingly sacrificed his only Son for the sake of us all. And not only did he give him to be sacrificed, but let his life be taken. In our modern context we are talking about interrogation techniques that don't even even physically disable the person in order to get information that could potentially save thousands if not more.

Another example, God commanded Abraham to sacrifice his only son. I know that in the end he didn't end up having to complete the task, but even he didn't opt out because he felt bad doing it.

My point is, there are people out there, good Christians among them, that have a different views of things, and just because you say so doesn't make them evil or even wrong. There must be a better reason put forward if you wish to justify your position against theirs. And this article does not do that, and is therefore, in my view, just the rantings of one man that has no authority and cannot even justify his own positions, because he can't think for himself, he just follows the crowd.
