Multiple groups meet up on meetup.com every week for this type of thing. He should get a group of 20 at 5 different pace groups. no competition or timing

This is pretty pathetic on The Kitchen's part. No one calls "The Kitchen Next Door" just Next Door. They finally want to shorten their name and then go filing law suits? What a joke. Good thing there are 1000 other places I can take my business in Boulder.

Considering Olympic sports are about the only thing they excel at right now, it makes sense to put funds into it and stay on top. Hopefully these upgraded facilities will translate to other sports as well.

CU has won national championships in skiing, mens and womens CC, and football (once). Gotta be better than that.

"We, the city of Boulder are being approached about adding a similar event. "

You still think having one stage of the USAPCC and having an Ironman here are similar? Is every event held in Boulder similar? I've had more rational discussions with my 2 year old.

First off ,"we" didn't have a bike race. A Colorado bike race rode through town and then finished here and immediately left town. These people are obviously awful at projections, so I'm not even looking at them. What I'm saying is these two events should not be compared. Having a 7AM to Midnight event is a little different than having a bike race in town for a couple hours. And then start again in another town. And if it really only costs $70k, it's way worth it. although i'm sure they'll miss that projection as well.

When i travel to run marathons, I stay in those cities for at least 4 nights. that's the difference.

The comparison shouldn't even be made. The bike race didn't even start in Boulder and was one of seven days across the state. Sure, the projections were wrong, but this is a different animal. The focus of this event will be Boulder, not Colorado. There will be no sharing with the rest of the state. It's almost comical that Boulder doesn't have one of these already.

i stopped reading at, "The intake survey did not ask people why they had come to Boulder."

Isn't that one of the primary questions?

This is nothing new and CU's been doing the same. And this is one of the few real ways for professors to get raises consistently.

If you want to act like you're a big boy, you better pay like a big boy.
