Calling the Spartans "fascists" 1) abuses the term "fascist/fascism," which really does have a meaning other than "something I don't approve of," 2) is laughably simplistic, 3) falls into the liberal trap of judging a society out of historical context, and 4) related to the last, sounds like something you'd see on HuffPo. But frankly, the whole idea of a "liberal movie" or "conservative movie" is fairly absurd. Unless you're watching something that's beating you over the head with a sledge hammer, the plot should be what you focus on, instead of trying to read secret messages into it.
